We’re the people who make top 10 UK grocery brand Kingsmill as well as Burgen, Allinson and Sunblest. You know us through our wholesome white, wholemeal and seeded breads that offer delicious options to suit every family member – and our rolls, pancakes, crumpets, muffins, hot cross buns, wraps and other delicious bakery products. We work closely with Allied Mills, who mill the flour we need to bake our products, and together we make up Allied Milling & Baking, which in turn is a part of Associated British Foods, ABF is a major international business with a turnover of £12.3bn and close to 130,000 employees working in 50 countries.

In the UK, well-known ABF brands include Twinings, Silver Spoon, Primark, Ryvita, Ovaltine, Patak’s and Jordans Cereals.

About us:

In 2016 we completed a quarter of a billion pound investment in our bakeries, This has given us a fantastic foundation to build for the future. The best bakery kit in Europe and an experienced workforce.

With that in place, we have ambitious plans for the future and everyone at Allied Milling and Baking has a role to play in making them happen.

Of course, it isn’t just about what we do; it’s also about how we do it.

Company structure

We’re one of two divisions of Allied Milling and Baking, along with Allied Mills. Together we employ around 4000 people.

Our people work in the field, at our national network of bakeries and depots, and at Kingsmill Place, our head office, where we have the following functions, each headed by a Board Director:

  • Sales
  • Marketing
  • Category
  • Operations & Supply Chain
  • HR
  • Finance

We’re a decentralised business that aims to put decision-making at the lowest possible level. To support that aim, we’re organised nationally, with the centre setting our strategic direction – and we operate regionally through our 10 regions, each led by a General Manager.

The regional team includes Manufacturing, Engineering, Logistics, Commercial – which heads up regional sales – HR and Finance.
