Business Development Executive – The Role:

Your primary responsibility, within Business Development team, is to work with customers who have the greatest opportunities for growth, as well as maintain existing customers relationships with an aim to increase sales growth year on year and achieve the company’s yearly sales revenue target and GP target.

To achieve this, your first priority and 80% of your focus, will be to oversee and manage a selected group of accounts (between 60 and 80) that have been identified as aligning with our Core Focus and Core Values with the potential to grow to spend a minimum of £20k per annum.

As you will be rewarded on a team scheme, your second responsibility (20% of your time) is to be available to follow-up and nurture leads generated by the New Business and Sales and Support team, as well as sharing knowledge and assisting with product training.

This role is solely focused on proactive selling activities, maintaining contact by telephone, video call and face-to-face, when required. The customer should be reliant on Sales and Support team for any non-selling related interactions, including cases and returns.

The overreaching goal is to exceed the sales target in a way that adds value for the customers, not just selling product for the sake of the sales rep and the company.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Maximising the daily quantity of outbound telephone calls and email dialog to support and nurture customers, ensuring Prime Time (08:30 – 16:00) is used for customer interactions.
  • Ensure the customer receives timely and successful delivery of our solutions as well as an exceptional client service on a day-to-day basis.
  • Monitor and analyse your account managed customers monthly spend to detect changes at the first opportunity, including leakages which will be flagged up monthly by the Sales Administrator.
  • Achieve your three daily commitments defined each morning in the sales huddle. This is a specific commitment relating to progressing all sales opportunity and following details provided within Pipedrive, rather than daily ‘to dos’.
  • 100% quote follow-up for quotes raised against your account managed customers recording win / loss reason in NetSuite.
  • All opportunities to be logged as leads / deals within Pipedrive which is our ‘Sales pipeline’ to ensure these are followed through and can be used for forecasting.
  • When a customer visit is required, the reason and agenda items to be updated in Pipedrive. A calendar invites to be issued to the customer along with a clear agenda outlining the purpose of the visit.
  • Improve own operating processes of admin tasks, by utilising the Sales administration team and the Sales and Support team.
  • Relevant systems to be used – Pipedrive for logging all notes on all proactive customer interactions, and NetSuite for all transactions and accounting purposes. In your role you should be living the majority of the day within Pipedrive.
  • Upholding the Coastal ethos and brand image at all times, this includes using the Coastal Vehicle when carrying out face to face visits.
  • Clean and Tidy workspace.
  • Attend all relevant meetings.
