In return, we offer a competitive salary of £24,561 – £25,561 per annum, this is inclusive of up to £7,517 in sleeping in allowance (£62.64 per sleep).
Total Care Matters is a residential children’s home provider and looks after children in care between the ages of eight and eighteen.

We are based in the East Midlands and operate 7 children’s homes specialising in (SEBD) social, emotional and behavioural difficulties. We take pride in all our homes which are finished and decorated to a high standard and actively encourage our young people to decorate their own rooms to their individual needs to help with their sense of belonging.
About the role
As a Residential Support Worker, you will become part of a small caring team and work in a homely setting and family environment. Our young people have often seen and experienced traumatic events and your role will be to help and support our young people to improve their lives and reach their full potential leading to a brighter future. We believe that we can bring about positive change and outcomes for our young people through our safe and nurturing relationships with them.
Your role will be diverse and often differ day to day. Every shift you’ll start with a hand over from the previous shift and your day will be planned accordingly. Your day may include taking the young people to school, medical appointments or going out to the cinema, bowling or their chosen activities. Most of your time will be spend directly with the young people and your role will be instrumental in helping them build a positive sense of emotional wellbeing.
Your daily tasks can include some administration, household chores, cooking and helping young people with their personal care.

Following your induction, we support you to gain your QCF Level 3 Residential Childcare and provide you with career progression and continual personal development opportunities. We take your career progression very seriously and have a good track record of developing internal talent and promoting from within!
Our ideal Residential Support Worker will
• Be required to undergo an enhanced disclosure
• Possess previous experience of working with children and young people, either paid or voluntary
• Hold a full UK driving licence
The hours of work for this role will be based on shifts and may include sleep-in’s and weekend work.
We are keen to recruit casual Support Workers on a bank basis (with hourly pay of £8.30).
