Resource Planning Manager

Location: Eastleigh, Hampshire
Salary: Up to £41,5000 (DOE)
Contract: Full time, Permanent

Resource Manager: Ageas have a brand-new opportunity to join their growing and expanding Change department in Eastleigh as a Resource Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity as it will allow the right candidate to take full ownership and make this role their own.

Reporting into the Head of PMO, the Resource Manager will be responsible for maintaining timely resource forecasting, capacity planning and reporting to ensure the optimal and effective use of internal resources are being used for successful delivery of change portfolios and to demand resources for capacity planning.

Working closely with Change Management, IT teams and the wider business, the Resource Manager will maintain a clear view of resource capacity across the areas to deliver change, and will provide support during project planning to schedule change activity in line with the priorities set out by the Change Investment Board, ensuring appropriate resources are in place to support the delivery of change.

This is a technical based role, therefore the ideal candidate must have experience in Project management lifecycles and methodologies and must have extensive experience of resource management in a rapidly changing environment to be able to create a resource capacity model illustrating the resource supply vs demand, giving insight into when there is availability to schedule new changes.

Your main responsibilities as a Resource Manager include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for effective and timely resource forecasting, capacity planning, utilisation tracking and reporting.
  • Maintain an accurate view of resource supply, with a clear view of resource numbers and capabilities, taking into account BAU commitments, shrinkage and holidays.
  • Develop processes to identify a clear and accurate view of resource demand from both Pipeline and Inflight projects.
  • Highlight, and propose recommendations to resolve, any resource conflicts, pinch points, capability gaps and key person dependencies.
  • Produce and maintain a pipeline for the change portfolio.
  • Monitor resource usage across IT, taking action or escalating suboptimal or ineffective use.
  • Make recommendations around resource levels and capabilities across IT.
  • Develop and Maintain Tools to manage the resource capacity model

The knowledge skills and experience required to be successful as a Resource Manager are:

  • Extensive experience of resource management in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Experience in the use of project management tools specifically focused on resource planning.
  • Extensive experience in reviewing and analysing complex data.
  • Excellent at distilling complex data and information into clear conclusions and accessible reports.
  • Broad experience in producing detailed and relevant reporting to UKET level.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills for reports and presentations.
  • Experience in Stakeholder management and the ability to build strong relationships.
  • High levels of attention detail and accuracy.
  • Highly proficient IT skills in Word, Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint, Jira and other supporting tools.
  • Strong business acumen and knowledge of the organisation.
  • Thorough understanding of change and development lifecycles.
  • An ability to manage multiple tasks and initiatives in parallel without compromising quality.
