Support Worker

Location: Morpeth, Northumberland
Salary: £15,870.40 pro rata per annum + Health Care Cash Plan & Employee Assistance Programme
Contract: Full time or part time, Permanent

Here at Oaklea we don’t like to use the term Support Worker or Carer, we think that a better description of the work our employees do is Lifestyle Co-ordinators, assisting customers in all aspects of their lives including excellent care and support.

We are looking for full and part time Support Workers to support 2 young men within the home they share in the Morpeth area. Both of these men have very happy, active and fulfilled lives, these roles will enable continuation of this.

Within these exciting roles, you must:

  • Provide support that positively affects the health, wellbeing and social needs of the two men.
  • Contribute and implement support plans determined by the individual support needs.
  • Be accountable for the delivery of the content of all support and its administration including, personal care, tenancy support, health needs, housing management, personal development, emotional issues and social inclusion.
  • Have good initiative skills in offering social activity suggestions is essential.
  • Support the fulfilment of goals and aspirations.
  • Have excellent time management.
  • A sense of humour and empathy.
  • Have experience in using technology i.e Smartphone/ Tablets/ Laptop

Both men have active lifestyles, which include walking, swimming and cycling.

Be accountable for the delivery of the content of all support and its administration including, personal care, tenancy support, health needs, housing management, personal development, emotional issues and social inclusion.

You must be able to follow guidance from your line manager and undertake all training as required.

The position involves working flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends and sleep-in nights.
