Here at Oaklea we pride ourselves in providing high quality personalised care and support to adults with Learning Disabilities. We have supported disabled and disadvantaged people to discover their potential and lead a fulfilling, independent life for almost 30 years.
We have some exciting opportunities to work at our charity supporting adults with learning Disabilities in a supported living property in Ulverston.
The four young gentlemen have recently moved into this property and are experiencing independent living for the first time, they are looking for a new member for their staff team to support them in their home. When asked what they wanted from the staff who support them they requested that you have a sense of fun, will help them with their hobbies and interests, maintaining relationships with their families, making friends and encouraging confidence and self-belief.
Support Workers / Lifestyle Co-ordinators – About the Role:
You will be required to support customers to access the local community and to try new experiences. There is so much more they would like to do and as a Lifestyle Co-ordinator you can help them achieve their goals and aspirations. Support will also be required with health, budgeting and domestic tasks. Experience of working with people with Autism would be beneficial to the role.
There is a need for some flexibility and the role will also include will waking night shifts.
Support Workers / Lifestyle Co-ordinators – What We Need from You:

You need to be a good communicator, be compassionate, understanding and non-judgemental. You will provide support in setting and achieving the customers’ personal goals and encourage independence whilst promoting life skills.
