We are Shear Design Ltd, a civil and structural engineering consultancy based in Cardiff, working across the UK. Since our formation in 2004, we’ve built a practice around delivering practical, economical, and sustainable engineering solutions for a wide range of developments — from residential and commercial buildings to education, healthcare, industrial, and infrastructure projects.

At our core, we’re a hands-on design consultancy. Every project we take on is led with direct involvement from a director or senior engineer, meaning our clients always have a clear point of contact and consistent technical oversight from start to finish. That approach has helped us build long-standing relationships, with a large portion of our work coming from repeat clients who trust us to deliver reliable and buildable solutions.

We’ve also continued to grow steadily over the years, taking on increasingly complex projects and expanding our team of engineers and technicians as demand has increased.
