In May 1999, SWS acquired Lucas SEI Wiring Systems Ltd in the UK and so Sumitomo Electric Wiring Systems – Europe (SEWS-E) was established.
We have in that time, cemented valuable relationships with our growing customer base and suppliers and have grown our business, with a turnover in excess of €700M, operating across more than 50 sites, throughout Europe and North Africa, now employing 20,000 people.
The Sumitomo Electric Wiring Systems Spirit
The Sumitomo Electric Wiring Systems Spirit grew out of the guiding principles set out by Masatomo Sumitomo the founding father of the House of Sumitomo. The Sumitomo Spirit has been passed down and elaborated through the generations in the form of our “Business Principles”. Through the years beliefs and principles behind business decisions have been included. Today the Sumitomo Spirit has become an amazing asset held and respected by all Sumitomo Group companies including SEWS-E.
