Machine Operator – Packaging

Location: Thrapston, NN14 4QS
Salary: £32,375.88 per annum, increasing to £34,770.72 following successful completion of probation
Contract: Full Time, Permanent
Shift Pattern: Double Days – 6:00am-2:00pm / 2:00pm-10:00pm, Monday to Friday

We are recruiting an experienced Machine Operator to join our Conversion team at our Thrapston site. This role will suit someone with a hands-on approach, a strong focus on quality and safety, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Experience operating rotary die-cut and case maker machines is desirable; however, full training will be provided for candidates who demonstrate the right attitude, reliability and commitment.

As our Machine Operator you will be responsible for:

• Operating and monitoring packaging machinery to produce high quality corrugated packaging products
• Ensuring output meets quality, safety and customer requirements
• Working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve production targets
• Maintaining a safe and clean working environment
• Following site procedures and health & safety standards at all times

What We’re Looking For

• Hands on and operationally capable
• Machine operator experience (3 – 5 years) – ideally rotary die cut and case maker machines
• Customer focused with an eye for quality
• Strong communication skills and a team oriented approach
• Safety conscious, dependable and reliable
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Good understanding of continuous improvement techniques, e.g. lean & 5S
• Ability to follow procedures, meet deadlines and follow specifications
