We are Hamelin Trust, an Essex based charity founded 40 years ago by two families raising children with learning disabilities.

We are currently seeking full-time and part-time Support Workers to our dedicated team at Gowlands, our nine-bed short break service.

Gowlands offers a dynamic and inviting atmosphere for individuals we care for. Nestled in five sprawling acres, this site is not only home to our Hydrotherapy Pool and horticultural project, Roots and Shoots, but also serves as a tranquil retreat for all visitors.

As a Support Worker, you will be part of our dynamic staff team, providing exceptional person-centred care and support to our guests. This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference and be a crucial part of our community.

The shift times are: Morning / Afternoon (7am – 2pm) and Afternoon / Evening (2pm – 10pm). This role does require flexibility to work two weekends per month and holidays.

  • Assist with personal care tasks, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming, while ensuring the individual’s dignity and privacy are respected.
  • Administer medications and provide health monitoring to ensure the individual’s physical health needs are met.
  • Collaborate with the individual’s family, healthcare providers, and other support professionals to ensure a holistic approach to care.
