Manufacturing Operative – Rewind

Location: Deeside, CH5 2UA
Salary: £29,749.56 per annum + Excellent Benefits!
Contract: Full time, permanent.
Shifts: 24/5 support – 12 hour shifts, no weekends – 6am – 6pm or 6pm to 6am.

We are now recruiting for a Manufacturing Operative to join our production team in Deeside!

As our Manufacturing Operative, you will:

  • Operate all rewind and inspection machinery safely and effectively, in line with company safety policies.
  • Convert large printed rolls into customer-defined formats using finishing equipment.
  • Ensure maximum output with minimal waste while maintaining the highest quality standards.
  • Act as a quality gate, inspecting materials with a strong eye for detail.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy work area at all times.
  • Carry out basic mechanical tasks, including routine weekly safety and maintenance checks.
  • Monitor key performance indicators such as conformance to plan, quality levels and waste reduction.
  • Support effective communication within the production cell, escalating issues where required.

In order to be successful in this role you must have:

  • Previous experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or warehouse environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to spot faults quickly.
  • Ability to operate machinery confidently and safely.
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety principles.
  • Strong communication skills and fluent English (written and verbal).
  • Ability to work under own initiative and meet tight production deadlines.
  • Able to collaborate effectively as part of a shift team.
  • Problem-solving capability and accurate record keeping.
  • Commitment to Saica values and willingness to challenge inefficiencies.
  • Ability to remain calm and focused when dealing with quality or production issues.
  • Willingness to work overtime when required.
  • Safety-first mindset — never compromising on standards.

It would be great if you had:

  • Knowledge of rewind and inspection procedures.
  • Basic mechanical skills for low-level maintenance and troubleshooting.

Please note: A reasonable level of physical fitness is required as this role involves lifting, bending and handling materials.
